Overview
A to Z Movies is a full movie database experience in the spirit of IMDb: live search, rich title pages, ratings, cast and release details — all presented in a fast, cinematic interface.
Behind the interface sits a custom API layer we built to fetch, shape and cache film data before it reaches the browser. The result is a site that feels instant, handles large amounts of content gracefully and is ready to grow with new features.

A custom API
Rather than calling a third-party data source straight from the browser, requests go through our own API — which normalises the data, hides private keys and keeps the front end simple.
Fast, cached responses
Frequent requests are cached so popular titles and searches return almost instantly, while keeping usage of the upstream data source low.
Search and discovery
Live search, browsable listings and detailed title pages with posters, ratings, cast and release information make it easy to go from curiosity to the right film.
Built to scale
A clean separation between data, API and interface means new features — watchlists, reviews, recommendations — can be added without a rebuild.
